The game received IGN's award of being the "Toughest Game to Beat", while Nintendo called it one of the best multiplayer NES games. Contra is one of only a hand full of games I can play over and over and not get sick of (The other being FFVII.) My favorite levels were the Base levels. You had to blow up those flashing sensors on the back wall while trying to avoid enemy fire, and if you pressed up on the control pad, your character would get a SERIOUS shock from the high voltage fence!
